What is the most common reason email lands in spam?

Missing or misaligned DMARC policy is the most frequent culprit for legitimate mail landing in spam. A valid SPF record + DKIM signature + a DMARC policy of at least p=quarantine signals to receiving servers that your domain is managed and authenticated.

Will fixing SPF/DKIM/DMARC guarantee inbox delivery?

Authentication is necessary but not sufficient. Content filters, your sending IP's reputation, recipient engagement rates, and volume patterns all contribute. Authentication removes the biggest structural blocker — content and reputation work comes after.
